National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talent
Launched in 2016, The National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talent aims to attract outstanding PhD graduates to conduct postdoctoral research, and to support and foster young talents to engage in the frontiers of science and technology of the world. The program integrates major scientific bases including National Laboratories, focusing on fundamental national strategies, high technologies, and cutting-edge research of basic sciences. The Program Committee selects 400 fresh or recent PhD graduates each year to fund their research in domestic institutions for two years, with an allowance of 630,000 RMB, which includes 400,000 RMB for daily expenses, 200,000 RMB for postdoctoral scientific studies, and 30,000 RMB for international exchanges.

International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program
1. Talent-Introduction Program
The Talent Introduction Program of Postdoctoral International Exchange Program aims to fund excellent international young researchers (including Chinese and foreign nationals) who have obtained PhD degrees overseas (including those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) pursuing postdoctoral research in a domestic institutions.
The selected candidates would be co-funded for two years, by the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council (CNPC) and the host institution, with an allowance of 200,000 RMB each year shall be provided by OCPC and another 100,000 RMB per year provided by the host institution, which covers living expenses, housing allowances, social insurance and round-trip international travel expenses, etc.

2. Dispatch project
The Dispatch project funds outstanding postdoctoral fellows from domestic institutions to conduct two-year postdoctoral studies in top-tier universities, scientific institutions, or the leading fields of enterprises overseas. The candidates will receive 300,000 RMB per year from the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council (CNPC) to cover the daily expenses, housing allowance, social insurance, travel expenses during their postdoctoral studies overseas.

3. Academic Exchange Project
The Academic Exchange Project funds outstanding postdoctoral researchers to travel abroad for international meetings and academic communications, The candidates will receive 20,000 RMB to cover their expenses for travel, lodging and meeting registration.

4. The Hong Kong Scholars Program
The Hong Kong Scholars Program is a collaboration between the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council (CNPC) and the Society of Hong Kong Scholars. The program funds outstanding PhD scholars to conduct their two-year postdoctoral studies in Hong Kong universities as a contracted researcher, under the supervision of Hong Kong PIs. Each candidate will receive an allowance of 360,000 RMB and 439,200 HKD (~360,000 RMB) from CNPC and Hong Kong, respectively, which covers the living expenses, housing allowance, insurance, and travel expenses.

5. Macao Young Scholars Program
The Macao Young Scholars Program is a collaboration between the Office of China National Postdoctoral Council (CNPC) and Macao Association for Promotion of Science and Technology. The program funds outstanding PhD scholars to conduct two-year postdoctoral studies in the leading fields of Macao universities and institutions, under the supervision of Macao PIs. Each candidate will receive an allowance of 360,000 RMB and 420,000 MOP (~360,000 RMB) to cover the living expenses, housing allowance, insurance, and travel expenses.

6. Sino-German Postdoctoral Exchange Program
The Sino-German Postdoctoral Exchange Program is a collaboration between the Office of the China National Postdoctoral Council (CNPC) and the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. The program funds young Chinese PhD scholars for two-year postdoctoral studies in institutions affiliated with the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. The CNPC provides an allowance of 300,000 RMB per person per year, and the Helmholtz Association pays 1,500 EUR per person per month, covering the living allowance, accident and health insurance, and travel expenses.

China Postdoctoral Science Fund
Chinese Postdoctoral Science Fund is a national research fund for postdoctoral scholars, which aims to encourage outstanding postdoctoral researchers with great potential and capabilities to carry out innovative studies, and to cultivate a group of high-level innovative postdoctoral talents. The Chinese Postdoctoral Science Fund is mainly supported by the central financial budget.
Currently, the Chinese Postdoctoral Science Fund supports for four programs: General Program, Special Program, Publishing Program, and National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents.

Shanghai Post-doctoral Excellence Program
Shanghai Post-doctoral Excellence Program aims to secure and improve the allowance standards for outstanding postdoctoral scholars of the city, to ensure their focuses on scientific research, and to further inspire their innovative creativity, so that to provide talent guarantee for accelerating the construction of the "Five Centers" of Shanghai.
The candidate selected by the program will be funded by the Special Fund for Promoting Talent Development in Shanghai, with an allowance of 150,000 RMB per person per year for 2 years. The host institution shall offer a matching allowance at no less than 1:1 ratio to this amount.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Postdoctoral Incentive Program
Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Postdoctoral Incentive Program aims to attract excellent PhD graduates to conduct postdoctoral research work, and encourage them to dedicate to scientific research. The candidates selected will be receive an annual stipend of 200,000-350,000 RMB.
Postdoctoral Innovation Program of Shanghai Institute of Immunology
Supported by the policy of specialized academic zone construction of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai Institute of Immunology (SII) has extensively explored the pilot reform of postdoctoral training system. In May 2016, SII took the lead in launching the "2+X" Immunology Postdoctoral Program and successfully expanded it to the School of Medicine, which had attracted a group of excellent postdoctoral fellows to carry out cutting-edge research and madea series of breakthroughs and influential achievements. In July 2021, SII implemented the new Immunology Postdoctoral Innovation Program, which extended the postdoctoral training system to "3+X" mode, aiming to further strengthen the scientific research training and to foster a group of competitive and outstanding young scientists. Each candidate selected by the Immunology Postdoctoral Innovation Program will receive an annual salary starting at 240,000 RMB, and the exceptional candidate will be awarded YuHe Postdoctoral Fellowship, with an annual salary up to 300,000 RMB.
